Counterfeit Electronics – The New Standard For Distributors: AS6081

For the Distributor, SAE International (Society of Automotive Engineers) recently released the new AS6081 Standard, defined as Fraudulent/Counterfeit Electronic Parts; Avoidance, Detection, Mitigation, and Disposition – Distributors.
What does it mean?
The new AS6081 is a quality standard that provides an even higher level of protection against counterfeit components for customers in the aerospace/defense industry.
The standard allows the distributor to:
- Identify releiable sources to procure parts through
- Evaluate the risk of fraudulent/counterfeit parts being distributed
- Provide assistance in controlling suspect or confirmed fraudulent/counterfeit parts
- Report suspect and confirmed fraudulent/counterfeit parts to other potential users and Authority having juristiction
ES Components is aware of the industry wide issues with Counterfeit Microelectronics and acknowledges the need for safeguards against it. To that end, ES Components hereby certifies that we will not knowingly, under any circumstances, provide our customers with counterfeit products.
